TANNER TWETEN

TREASURER

Passion:

Community! Being part of a community and helping that community thrive is a big part of who I am, both personally and professionally. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a small town of 200 people in northeastern Montana where everyone was your neighbor (literally) and the community was always there to help, no matter the situation or need. That support, and sense of community, is what helped form me into the person I am today and for that I am forever grateful. While slightly larger, I feel like Broomfield is a city that has that same community focus, and the Foundation helps bring together the community to help those in need. There are so many fantastic non-profits serving the Broomfield community, and I feel very fortunate to be able to witness, and support, those efforts as a Foundation Board Member.

Professional Background:

Shortly after receiving my BS in Business Administration from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, I moved to Colorado and began my career as a banker. I am coming up on 24 years at FirstBank where I have had the opportunity to support the community in various ways. From a professional point of view, it has been very rewarding to play a small part in helping the community grow whether it’s helping a first-time homebuyer, supporting a local business in their expansion efforts, or working with various non-profits like the Broomfield Community Foundation.

Personal Insights:

I have lived in the north metro area ever since moving to Colorado in 2001, and my wife and I decided to move to Broomfield in 2008, largely due to the sense of community. We now have two boys in middle school and feel very blessed to be part of such an amazing community. Whether it’s a kid’s game, non-profit event, or neighborhood gathering, the sense of support and community in Broomfield is amazing. When we’re not working or hanging out with our amazing neighbors, our family enjoys traveling in our free time. Additionally, woodworking is my form of stress release. I love creating something from scratch with my own two hands!

My Superpower:

My superpower is…the ability to fix (almost) anything! Whether it’s electronics, autos, or general household items, I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of bringing things back to life. With two young boys in the house, there’s never a lack of opportunity to fix things!

What is your favorite park in Broomfield:

Broomfield has so many amazing parks and open space areas; however, I would have to pick my local Country Vista Park as my favorite. Watching my kids enjoy the local playground as small children and then expand to the large open space and sports fields has been great. We are fortunate to have so many parks and open spaces in Broomfield.
