LUCIANA CHAMA, MBA

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Passion

My passion is helping others and joining the Broomfield Community Foundation in 2024 allows me to pursue that. Being the Community Engagement Coordinator at the BCF empowers me to improve community well-being by taking the lead, working with others, and creating and implementing initiatives. I am able to collaborate with stakeholders, address social issues, and drive positive change through our Broomfield Community Service Network program (BCSN). I help Broomfield organizations to build capacity and have a greater collaborative impact in our community.

Professional Background

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Institutional Management and Organization in Argentina and earned an MBA in Human Resources Management after moving to Colorado.

With a very diverse background including education, health, human service, finance, and human resources, I’m proud to have made a difference in various roles and impacted people and organizations. It is truly an honor to work with so many organizations helping our community.

In my most recent position as a Migrant Integration Manager with the State of Colorado, I established and maintained partnerships with nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, and faith-based groups, supporting newcomers in Colorado.

Before joining the state, I spent two years at Broomfield FISH, where I served as a Bilingual Participant Programs Advocate. My language translation skills and bicultural background have been invaluable in bridging communication gaps and ensuring everyone feels heard and welcome. And I currently serve as a board member at the organization.

Personal Insights

Originally from Argentina, I moved to Colorado in 2001 with my husband. Jose and I reside in Broomfield with our three children who attend Adams 12 Five Star schools. My daughter is in middle school, and my two sons are in high school. They surely keep our calendar full with extra-curricular activities. We enjoy many of the wonderful activities that Colorado offers. We love to ski during winter and enjoy boating during the summer.

We love to travel internationally, and we try to go to Argentina every couple of years to visit friends and family and let our kids practice their Spanish.

My Superpower

My superpower is getting things done and converting ideas into reality. I love to improve processes and make things more efficient. Another superpower is bringing people together and creating new lasting relationships.

Favorite Broomfield Amenities/Park

There are many places in Broomfield that my family enjoys. But lately, we spend a lot of our time at the Broomfield Commons where I enjoy walking my dog while my kids are practicing sports.
